Hi, I'm Katie.

I’m a proud fourth-generation Newton native and have proudly called Westwood home for nearly a decade. At the center of my life is my family—my husband, Ryan, and our three children: Kyla (8), Max (5), and Khloe, affectionately known as Koko (3).

As a mom of young children in Westwood’s public schools and Co-President of the Sheehan PTA, I see firsthand the extraordinary dedication of our educators, the joy in our classrooms, and the impact thoughtful leadership has on students and families. Through the PTA, I’ve led initiatives such as Community Cares during the government shutdown and Valentine’s for Vets, and expanded teacher appreciation efforts—all focused on strengthening connections within our school community. I’ve also been active in the Saint Catherine's community, coordinating school-wide events and supporting families.

I've come from a long line of civil servants, my mother taught at the neighborhood preschool, my father was a Newton Police Officer, and my sister is a teacher who specializes in ABA. I began serving the Town of Westwood during the pandemic as an election worker, stepping in when many longtime volunteers were unable to serve. What started as a way to help during a challenging time became a deeper commitment to civic engagement. Supporting the Town Clerk’s office gave me a greater appreciation for the work that happens behind the scenes to keep our community running. That experience reinforced my belief that transparency, collaboration, and clear communication are essential to building trust.

I’m running for School Committee because I care deeply about protecting and strengthening what makes Westwood’s schools so special. My commitment goes beyond my own children—it’s about ensuring every student has access to opportunity, support, and an environment where they can thrive. I believe in responsible decision-making, open dialogue, and working collaboratively to keep our district strong for generations to come.
